Akci pořádá Generální ředitelství Evropské komise pro překlady a uskuteční se 27.11. v Bruselu. Jak je uvedeno v oznámení, bude možno ji sledovat přes internet. U příležitosti konference bude zveřejněna studie o odvětví jazykových služeb v EU.

OZNÁMENÍ

V Bruselu se uskuteční konference o odvětví jazykových služeb v EU

Generální ředitelství Evropské komise pro překlady pořádá konferenci, na níž seznámí veřejnost s výsledky průzkumu věnovaného velikosti odvětví jazykových služeb v Evropské unii. Jednodenní konference zaměřená na studii, kterou si generální ředitelství pro překlady nedávno objednalo, se uskuteční 27. listopadu 2009 na půdě Evropské komise v Bruselu.

Dopolední zasedání bude věnováno prezentaci studie a odpoledne se uskuteční diskuse za kulatým stolem na téma jazyky a ekonomika, po níž bude následovat debata (viz program).

Studie poskytuje podrobný obraz, pokud jde o různé činnosti v dynamicky se rozvíjejícím odvětví jazykových služeb s inovačním potenciálem. Údaje byly shromážděny a analyzovány podle pododvětví, jako jsou překlady a tlumočení, lokalizace a globalizace, titulkování a dabing, jazykové technologické nástroje a jazyková výuka, jakož i podle členských států.

Konference bude přenášena přes internet na stránce http://webcast.ec.europa.eu/eutv/portal/index.html, kde bude k dispozici i chat on-line k vyjadřování názorů.

Dear Colleagues,

Earlier this year you may have been contacted by our contractor, the Language Technology Centre Ltd, in the context of our study on the size of the language industry in the European Union.

The study report gives an ample picture of the various activities involved in this dynamic industry with a high growth and innovation potential. Data have been collected and analysed by subsectors, such as translation and interpreting, localising and globalising, subtitling and dubbing, language technology tools, and language teaching as well as by Member State, thus highlighting best practices and/or gaps in relevant information.

The Directorate-General for Translation is now organising a conference to present the results of the study, which it will later publish in full on its website. The conference will take place on 27 November 2009 in Brussels : the morning session will be devoted to the presentation of the study and the afternoon to a round table on languages and the economy, both followed by a discussion (please see the attached programme and executive summary).
